Den forskning som bedrivs vid ICM delas in i sju olika program inom biologi och områden som gränsar till modern biologi (kemi, fysik, matematik, medicin, teknik och datavetenskap).
Vad forskar vi om?
Forskningen vid institutionen för cell- och molekylärbiologi är inriktad mot att förstå hur levande organismer fungerar på cellnivå. Detta görs på många olika nivåer med olika metodik. Vi är indelade i sju forskningsprogram som alla fokuserar på olika områden inom cell-och molekylärbiologi: Beräkningsbiologi och bioinformatik, Mikrobiologi och immunologi, Molekylärbiologi, Molekylär Biofysik, Molekylär Evolution, Molekylär systembiologi och Strukturbiologi. Basen i all forskning är biologi men forskningen överlappar med andra områden som medicin, datavetenskap, matematik, kemi, teknikvetenskap och fysik.
