Study at ICM
The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (ICM) is involved in education across a broad range of biology topics at bachelor, master and PhD level.
Education at ICM
Undergraduate studies
At bachelor and master level, ICM is involved in a large number of courses and programmes in topics ranging from cell biology to biophysics.
All undergraduate level biology programmes and courses at Uppsala University are coordinated by the Biology Education Centre (IBG). More information about all biology programmes and courses is available at the IBG website.
Postgraduate (PhD) studies in a stimulating environment
ICM attracts researchers and students from all over the world and we are one of the most prominent departments in Europe in the subject. At the department, we train PhD students in different specializations such as biophysics, bioinformatics, computational biology, cell biology, chemical biology, microbiology, molecular biology, molecular biotechnology, molecular evolution, molecular immunology, structural biology, and systems biology.

Pedagogical projects and awards
ICM strives to continuously develop and improve our education. Several of our teachers have been awarded pedagogical awards or appointed as excellent teachers.
